What Is A Montessori Nursery

What is the Montessori Method of Teaching ?

The Montessori early years style of education for the under fives has been a long standing method of practise. It’s aim is  based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. where children learn at their own pace through a variety of various education led activities . In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning. While the classroom and the highly trained teacher offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.

The method was founded by an Italian physician called Maria Montessori who’s method principles are based on the idea that children can learn through self-directed exploration. The Montessori method emphasises the importance of a child’s social and emotional development, independence, creativity, and freedom within an educational environment. Even while working in a group, you will find that Montessori classrooms remain peaceful, organised, and very quiet because of the flow and routine that each child has adapted to.

The traditional teaching and learning methods and the predictable daily routines employed in prepared Montessori learning environments provide stability for children with special educational needs (SEN), including disorders on the autistic spectrum.

Montessori students can have good growth in academic skills, social skills (theory of mind). Mastery orientation (focus on learning rather than performing for others), and liking of school tasks. No difference has been found in social problem-solving or creativity, than children educated through the early years foundation learning structure.

What is The Difference Between Montessori & Early Years ?

How Does the Montessori Curriculum Work? The Montessori Curriculum offers children five key areas of study: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies.

Montessori preschool is a popular choice among parents for their child’s early years, and it’s important to know the advantages of Montessori over preschools. Preschools offer daycare that may be—in some cases, such as private school—focused on early childhood education. These are structured learning environments for children before they begin kindergarten.

Montessori is an entirely distinct alternative complete with its own learning style, methods, and philosophy.

Both offer excellent preschool programs for our young learners. Examine both to help you determine the best fit for your preschool-aged child. Full-day or half-day learning for young children , but there are distinct advantages to trying preschool in a private school.
